What began in 1988 as a humble effort to build a home for himself using a technology that was not yet widely accepted and largely unheard of, Dr. M.R Yogananda was initially met with a lot of skepticism. Yet, 35 years later, here we are, as a progressive firm committed in not only disseminating alternative and sustainable technologies but also helping those around us build with stabilized mud.
We have been involved in the construction of a multitude of buildings in the last four decades. Mahijaa has also helped rehabilitate and sustain victims of earthquakes and Tsunamis in Bhuj and Nagapatnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Restoration has been another key facet in our line of work. We have helped save and restore several old buildings by giving them a new lease of life.
We help construct buildings that focus on using load bearing masonry using stabilized mud. Our main focus is to build in accordance with one’s needs and to reduce the embodied energy in the process of construction.
